The 1060 team has decades of combined experience working for industry leading Blue Chip corporations
and we have learned there are two ways to change the world.
Method 1
Build a radically innovate product using corporate rules and processes...
Use focus groups, market segmentation, product feature sets, roadmaps,
mythical man-decades of development all topped off by millions of dollars
of marketing and advertising expenditure.
The result is a product that does the job (maybe) and for which you, the end-user,
get the privilege of paying premium pricing to cover the sunk cost.
Furthermore, if you want your voice heard, or you need a new feature,
try to get your request through the sales guys to the product developers
who might then consider including your request in a subsequent release.
Method 2
Be open and go agile...
Have a bright idea (preferably a really great idea) and then share it with as many people as possible.
If the feedback indicates you're not crazy, then go agile -
implement the idea,
get feedback, implement some more, get more feedback etc.
The result is a product that does the job (pre-proven from the earliest stages)
and which can be used with the best license for each situation
(free or fee depending on the level of community participation).
With a a solid community and their support, the idea gains traction - the community
will enthusiastically tell others about it; changing the world - just for the fun of it!
